Barbecue

On behalf of the Westmont Jaycees and Westmont Lions Club we welcome any and all BBQ enthusiasts who want to compete for the title of "Grand Champion" of Illinois. This event is sanctioned by the KCBS and winners will gain prizes and competition points to move forward to the next level of competition.

Whether you are a novice or an expert, there is a place for you at the "RED, WHITE and BBQ".

Food

There will be plenty of food for all palets. If you want BBQ, there will be several BBQ vendors showing off their wares. There will be all kinds fruits, sausages, pizza and not to mention hot dogs and hamburgers and tasty beverages for all.

3 on 3 Soccer Tournament (Tentative)

3rd Amateur Contest (See the forms page)

The Red, White, and BBQ will have an amateur contest for the non-professional BBQ enthusiast. Do you have what it takes to walk among the pros? Would you like to give it a try? If so, you should sign up for this event. All ribs will be donated to you for this exclusive non-professional event.

People's Choice Award (Chili)

Back by poplular demand! We will be having a "People's Choice" Contest. The main attraction is CHILI !! Want to find out who has the best? Do you want to be voted "The Best Chili?" Sign up today for contestants and then for voters...make sure you buy a spoon and ballot to make your voice heard. Proceeds will be split 50/50 to the winner and the Westmont Lions and Westmont Jaycees. The 2007 Chili Champion, "BBQtioners" will be there to defend thier title.

We had a tremendous year in 2008. None of this could have been possible without the support of our sponsors, the teams, KCBS, our volunteers and our event Reps, Phil and Kathy Braizer.

This year the Red, White and BBQ event had 35 competitive teams (+6 over 2007), 17 teams for the Chili Cook-Off Contest (+7 over 2007) and 12 Amateurs (+7 over 2007) for the Amateur Contest.

We had teams from New York to Illinois and from Michigan to Kentucky. Great weather was had and it only rained for 15 minutes the whole weekend!
